Good people!
It's been a great few weeks :-)
First the gig in Sokndal! A spectacular place, and we all really enjoyed the atmosphere and the kindness of people! Had such a great trip, and loved to play at the venue! The only thing missing was the darkness :-) there's something special about playing outside late evening.
Then Drammen Elvefestival the week after, where I also got to see lots of friendly, happy faces :-)
And my concert in Karlstad, where again I got to meet so many of you afterwards!
Thank you so much for coming to see me, and be such a great support...EVERYWHERE :-)
I know lots of people who just couldn't believe you all travelled so far to see the gigs! Also from other parts of Norway.
The band and I were really happy to see you guys, and you really do bring something special, standing there (or sitting :-)) in front of the stage!!!

Hi everyone!
A little message from the North :-)
I know that some of you want to know what I'm up to at the moment. Basically, all I do is write. Simply because I enjoy it a lot, and it's nice to be in a creative mood. That's also when I "disappear" for a while.
I haven't planned a new album, if that's what you are thinking :-) I like to take things as they come, and not plan ahead too much. I really have no idea what this year will be like, but as long as I have the urge to write I'm very happy :-)
Also, you know how I'm like, sometimes I love to do things with not so much attention to it. Makes it easier in so many ways. No pressure, no expectations...just nice and quiet...
Anyway, hope you're all enjoying life and that you're happy!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, good people, 2008 is here! Hope the new year has been good to you so far :-)
I'm in Norway, and the last couple of days it's been snowing, so the winter feeling has come back! The last month, the last two months actually, has gone by very fast. Don't know if I've mentioned it before, but I spent a month in Vietnam just before Julegalla. A great trip! And that's probably also why I feel time has gone by so fast. Lots of things happening!
Thank you for 2007! And for the great support and love you keep giving me :-)
I'm in the proccess of planning the months to come. Don't know yet what's happening, but I'll let you know :-)

Hello!
It's been a long time since my last blog, good people! Part of it has to do with me being away for more than a month. I've been travelling in Asia, but now I'm back home in Norway (where it's very cold at the moment)!
Next week will be the beginning of "Julegalla". Several artists are performing, and we'll be doing 8 shows in November/December. It's a Christmas party where people will have dinner and drinks, and we'll be performing throughout the evening. These kinds of parties are very common in Norway just before Christmas!
Besides that I'm writing songs whenever I feel inspired, and enjoying life :-)

Hello good people!
I would just like to thank everyone who was present at Døgnvill - festivalen in Tromsø!!! You actually came all the way to see me play...fantastic :-)
It was an amazing weekend!!! Me and the band had so much fun! Spent a lot of time preparing for that concert, and was really happy about it. Although it also felt a bit weird when it was over...
Still a bit exhausted, but in a good way :-)

Hi everybody!
Lots of things happening lately, so I've been very busy. Now you probably know why :-)
Will play in Tromsoe in August, which I'm very excited about. It will be lots of fun, and I can't wait :-)
Also, Rihanna has recorded a song that I was involved in. Together with StarGate, the producers of Lost In A Moment, who's having amazing success these days.
Well deserved, as they are great, talented guys!!!
Next week I will do some work with Lovebugs. Looking forward to that!

Hope you're doing great!
It's been a while since my last blog, but now I'm back :-)
Been working with lots of different stuff lately, one of them helping Lovebugs getting a record deal in Norway. That's all done now, and I'm very pleased. Avalon's been sent to Norwegian radio stations. Have no idea how it will go yet, but I've had lots of great feedback from people who have heard it on the radio. As you know, it's hard to predict what's going to happen, but at least more people get to hear the song :-)
It almost feels like summer in Oslo now, so I've also spent lots of time hanging out with friends. I can also say that some music has been written... :-)

Hope the new year has been good to you so far? I've been spending time writing songs and doing lots of boring business stuff which as to be done! I much prefer writing!
We now have snow here in Oslo and -8 degrees! very cold!!

After the tv - show in Switzerland, I worked for a few more days, and then Christmas came. Relaxed for days, and it was great! We even had snow on Christmas Eve, which we didn't expect. Of course, the days after weren't as nice. Right now, it's raining and there's nothing that reminds you of winter. Hope you had a great holiday, and that the weather is better where you are :-)
Again, I have to thank all of you who came to Bern! You amaze me!!! The time you spend (not to mention the money) coming to meet me...it's unbelievable!!!

Christmas is coming up, I can't believe it. Been away for a couple of weeks, expected snow when I got back home, but there wasn't any. And still isn't.
So in many ways it doesn't feel like December.

What a weekend!
Went to Geneve on Friday to appear with the Lovebugs on the "Miss Switzerland" - show on Saturday. Had a great time!!!
To all of you fans who came to Geneve: unbelievable!!! You are so sweet, and I'm so grateful to have fans like you guys :-) The support that you give is truly fantastic!!!
I only had a bit more than 2 hours of sleep before having to go to the airport yesterday. 7 hours later I was home. Very tired, but very happy :-)
I'm sure that lots of you spent more time traveling than I did...you must be very tired too...

Hi, you are keeping me busy in this summer! So many great questions. Please know I try to answer as many as possible :-)
Maxence - Of course it is great to come to France (I have been to Paris over 20 times but never been up the Eiffel Tower) and I have done a couple of small concerts in Paris but it would be nice to plan a show, maybe in a few different cities :-)
Esteban - It still feels so good to hear my songs on the radio. In fact I still get as excited as I did when I heard a song for the very first time :-)
Chititruffe - Quite a few of you ask about a dvd for LIAM. It has got me thinking..... :-)
To Elrandir: I have been lucky to visit many great places and in most cases return several times. I suppose what I would really like is to be able to spend more time in all the wounderful cities and not just see the airport, hotel and tv/radio studio :-)
To Amelie: I read as many letters and emails as possible! The great thing is that the website and blog enables me to reply to many of you directly :-)
To Amelie: We have all grown up in the last 10 years, it is just that I grew up writing sons, making 3 albums and travelling around the world :-) I have been lucky to experience many different places and people, which all have an effect on how we grow up. The difference now is that I have the experience of being 10 years in the record business :-)

To Alessandra: Do I feel regret at choosing in a musical career over a normal life? No matter what you do I think everyone thinks about how their lives would be if they made some other choices. I've tried to picture how my life could have been but it is really difficult. All I know is I'm happy where I am :-)
To Stefano: I decided to rerecord "Hope You're Happy" for AD as I just wanted to and it deserved a wider audience! I love that song!
To Francesco: Which is my greatest dream? That in a 10 years from now I can look back and say "the last 10 years of my life have been great!" :-)
To Claudia: What is more important, Love or Friendship? Can you have true love without friendship... can you have true friendship without love? :-)
To Francesco: How do you feel when there is not enough time to meet your fans? That is just the way it sometimes is but I try not to think about what I DIDN'T do and concentrate on what I DID do! :-)

Sorry I've been gone for a while! Lots of things to do, but I'm enjoying it! I've been working a lot with several projects, but right now I'm just enjoying the sun...and 30 degrees :-)

It's been an interesting week :-)
Done things I've never done before. I was co - hosting a radio show on Friday, and that was great fun! Had to get up at 4.45 in the morning (that was NOT fun :-)), and then I was on air for 3 hours. Really enjoyed it, and it was a new experience :-). After that I did several interviews, and then time - off.
I've also been a photographer this week. Had a lession with a very good photographer, and then my task was to photograph myself! Which I did :-)
Haven't seen the photos yet, but I'm looking forward to that. Another great experience :-)

Still overwhelmed, and needed some time to think about everything that's happened lately :-)
Back home after visiting Taiwan and China. Lots of good memories :-) Interviews with radios, magazines and newspapers. TV performances and interviews, press conferences, photo - shoots, showcase and in - store autograph session...
Usually when I go somewhere, I'm there for a day or two. Maybe three. Now, I spent a lot more time in one place, which was really nice. I could actually unpack my bags :-)
I met so many great people on this trip! People working for the record company, journalists, photographers, and especially the fans!!! Thank you all so much!!! :-) I know it probably sounds weird, but knowing that my songs have affected so many people, so far away (many, many hours on the plane :-))...well, it's a very good feeling!
No matter which country, the support and smiles from the people I meet...THANK YOU!

Lots of things have happened the last few days! Did the video for "What If" this weekend, and now I'm in Taiwan.
Video first! Had to get up at 5.30 in the morning! Way too early for me. Then I had to get ready, and drive for an hour to the location. Of course, it was the coldest day I've experienced so far in months, so I woke up very quickly! The weather was fantastic, sunny and nice, but I didn't see the low temperature coming ! Not the best day to drive a convertible ! But that was what I did! Drove back and forth for about 6 hours. After that, I had another 3.5 hours outdoors. I had to defrost after that ! We did the rest of the shoot indoors, and finished about 1.30 at night. A very long, but great day!!!
Then Taiwan! That is where I am now. Travelled for about 21 hours to get here, but time went surprisingly quickly. We got a great welcome at the hotel! Very, very nice people! Now, the most important thing is to get into their rhythm. There is a 6 hour time-difference, and that takes some time to adjust to.
The last few days have been great! And I'm looking forward to the days to come.

I can't believe it's mid - October already...
Well, when I got ill, it didn't let go easily :-) That's probably why I feel time went by fast. I haven't fully recovered yet, but at least I'm back on my feet and able to work.
The first thing I did was the video for "Still Here". Started out early in the morning and finished 14-15 hours later. I had so much fun on the set, so it was a really enjoyable day! Everyone involved did a great job! I saw the almost - finished version today, and I'm really happy about it :-)
One video down, one to go... In a few days, we'll be doing the video for "What If". Very exciting! I wanted the same director for both videos. And since I had so much fun doing "Still here", I think it's going to be another good day on the set :-)

First of all, I want to thank all of you who remembered my birthday! Thank you so much for the sweet messages, I really appreciate it :-)
I'm actually 25 years old now. I can't believe it's almost 8 years since I got the record deal... I had a great celebration, so it was a really nice day!
My summer holiday is now over, and the summer as well it looks like. But I don't mind! I love this time of the year! One of the reasons for that is because it's very inspiring.
I work a lot with a few different projects right now, and that's fun! I also look forward to next trip! Where that will be to, I don't know yet :-)
I hope all of you have had a really great summer!!! That you've had time to relax, and enjoyed lots of time with lots of good people :-)

Time passes quickly! August is coming up...not many days left.
I've been to Belgium and England . I was in Belgium last week, and in England recently. Interviews both places. I've been traveling to one country every week for the last eight weeks, no wonder time passes quickly :-)
But I made sure that I would be back in Norway by Wednesday. That was the day of the U2 concert in Oslo. And a fantastic day it was!!! I was there with lots of good people, and it was a great evening :-)
Anyway, lots of nice things happening! Apparently, it's going so well in Germany that I might have to go back there very soon. That's excellent!

Hi everyone!
After a few days of traveling, I'm now back home. Have been to Italy and Holland. I went to Italy on Sunday, to do "Festival Bar" in the evening.
I've done it several times before, and it's always great! A really good audience, and I had a very nice time :-) Unfortunately, my back still hurt, and after an almost 20 hour day, it was about time to have a rest.
The day after, we went to Amsterdam. A beautiful city! Very nice and warm, and we actually had time to enjoy an hour outdoors. I was in Amsterdam from Monday to Wednesday. On Tuesday, we had a little concert for some people from around Europe. We played 6 songs, and it was fantastic! We were so happy and pleased afterwards!!! Met lots of nice people :-)
We get so much great feedback, really happy for that

Hi!
Just came home after a trip to Germany. We were in 9 cities in 3 days, so it wasn't exactly relaxing :-) Many, many radio interviews and acoustic performances. I also did some interviews with newspaper ad magazines. I don't really get to see much of the cities on these trips, but still it is very nice :-) Having lots of fun!
The weather was great the first day, then ut all went rainy and cold. Surprisingly cold in July. Fortunately, that canged when I came back to Oslo. It's very nice and warm. I'n now going to spend a couple days to relax. I've managed to get a serious pain in my back, which is not very comfortable. But I hope ro recover, before I'm off to Italy and Holland...

Hi everyone!
Summer is here, and life is good! I just came home after a trip to Italy. Went there on Sunday to do 2 performances at Festival Bar, and a few interviews as well. 21 hours later I could go to sleep, very, very happy! The next day I did a couple of radio interviews, and then 2 of the guys from my band and I did 4 songs in a record/book store. It was great! What an experience! The same can be said about Platekompaniet in Oslo. It's something very special to see people who know your songs, and sing along.

Also a very big thank you to everyone who's bought my album!!! With so many great releases at the same time, I was hoping for a top 5. But it entered at top 4 :-) ...and that, of course, was even better!!!

BUT now, over to something else.
Just now I'm located in Italy. Things have gone continuously since I arrived, but it is fantastically fun! Have been in Milan and Genoa. Yesterday we did 3 TV-appearances, among these Top of The Pops and MTV. I haven't been in Italy for well over a year, and I have to say it is good to be back here again. I've been smiling from ear to ear since I came, and I'm still smiling. Today I spent almost 2 hours giving out autographs, during and after MTV Total Request Live. It was totallly raw! There is something very special about seeing people who knows your song, and when MTV in addition was going down the memory lane with 'You Weren't There', people were singing along by full throats. To be meeting these people afterwards was incredibly fun!!! Thousand thanks, Italy!!!
The weather is irreproachable. Sunny and very, very warm! I almost melted away in the beginning, but luckily you get used to it after a while, so then it goes well. It's great with a bit of summer!
Have had some hectic days, which started in Paris. Me and the band were playing some songs from 'Lost In A Moment' before employees of EMI/Virgin and guests from EMI France. Had some serious communications problems on the technical side, so it was a lot of hustle. You know it will get difficult when you are asking the monitor guy for 'more guitar', and he doesn't understand what you're saying. But, but, it all went well in the end.
Otherwise, there is a couple of things to say about those I'm travelling with: They are incredibly able and a very nice party! Have a lot of fun together with them, and life as a solo artist suddenly doesn't get to be so lonely.
Next week, Switzerland is on the schedule. Don't know yet fully what is to be happening there, but there I'm going at least. Counting on a good deal of talking, yes.
However, first the Monday is coming, the date is June 13, and this is the day when my album is released! I'm looking forward to it a lot, and I'm so incredibly much looking forward to people getting to hear it! I haven't been waiting so long for this day compared with the other two albums, but I have been waiting long enough. Didn't think it would come a new album in 2005, but this is how wrong you can be, he he.

This blog should've been about something else, but some things you just can't get by.
Yes, for now the judgement from the serious music journalists have arrived, and this is interesting reading.
For those who haven't seen it yet: It is by no means just the music that has been reviewed.
Stein Østbø of VG is writing a lot about my career and a little about the record. Whether it's the career or the album he's giving a 3 is not easy to say.
Sigrid Hvidsten of Dagbladet is writing about my person, and is giving it a 3.
Svein Andersen is writing mostly about LIAM (the actual album), and gives it a 5.
Hehe, yes, where do I start?
I think I start with VG.
I agree a bit with Østbø about the career. There were periods where I was uncertain about where the dice was to land myself. When there were more journeys down than up, when I was exhausted and tired, and the joy in music was more or less gone. Luckily, the joy returned, and my second album 'Another Day' was born. I understand that somebody thinks 600.000 copies are little, but I was, and is, very, very satisfied with it! And then came 'Lost In A Moment'. Absolutely nothing can take away my joy in making the album, and also not in how the result became. I think nevertheless it is my best record! Perhaps in the way it was done. In all secrecy and in peace and quiet. Perhaps because of the able boys at Stargate. Perhaps because of a special event, which mr. Østbø is pulling forward in a most disrespectful way. Much can be mentioned in a review, but some things have no place there. I'll leave it with that.
Then there was Sigrid Hvidsten of Dagbladet.
We do all have periods where we are not that much fan of ourselves. And believe me, those periods I also have. Perhaps I'm in a bit of a poor shape, so I keep away from people, get sour from little things, and similar things. Having a bad day or two, indeed. Then there are several of my friends who would give me a solid '1'. And I can agree totally with them. Hvidsten has never spoken with me, but I understand she has a fantastic ability viewing things from a distance. And, yes, from a distance I may seem a little weird, where I'm fiddling about in the streets, and is totally inaccessible. At least on parties. A judgement is surely in its timely place! I apparently give interviews rarely, but I do think a 1000 is quite many! The albums are arriving with irregular intervals, and THANK HEAVENS FOR THAT! One should be making music when one is creative, not because you have to. Not because you have to follow a plan others believe are correct.
Just some facts for Hvidsten, as the journalist I am, he he. 'Where I'm Headed' was the big song in France, and because of this one the album sold. 'Sitting Down Here' did the job in England, and the album did sell well there too. So I choose to believe it wasn't just 'Unforgivable Sinner' that sold the album, but what do I know?
Then there came Aftenposten. The only paper I've read up until now that focuses mostly on the album.
A dice roll of 5! He went into the depths of the record, and reviewed it on that foundation. I do have to admit that it is much more pleasant with a 5 than a 3. However, I can totally take a 3 based on the actual album. Because, if you feel that, yes, this journalist has listened to the album thoroughly, basing the judgement on the album, and gives a dice roll concequently, then I take both a 2 and a 3 any time. Then they have done everything an artist could've asked for, but doesn't like it nevertheless.
I've said this in several interviews already: I don't care that much about poor reviews, as long as the job is done properly. I don't get sad either, except for a sentence a certain gentleman could have kept to himself. And in this, there are very many who agree with me!!!

The last day of the month... Tomorrow is the first day of June, and I just realized that the album-launch is only 2 weeks away! It feels good, exciting and scary at the same time :-) You'll get to listen to album soon, and that's something I look forward to. I don't think I'll get much sleep the day before its release :-)
I've had a very nice day, did several interviews. People are so nice and positive, and that's great!

Hi everybody,
Of all the times to get sick, this was the worst... Sorry for my absence, but I've been in bed recovering for almost a week. Luckily, it looks like it's paid off, and I'll be back on my feet again.
Had of cancel lots of things this week, but hopefully I'll make up for it after the weekend.
