	From Virgin Records Norway, as: Lene is in studio recording new songs these days. The next album will be released sometime around spring 2002. Lene is doing very well, and is very excited about beeing in the studio recording again.

Lene Marlin Pedersen is in her second year hiding from the spotlight.But she got a lot to live for.She owned 44.5 million NOK just because of PLAYING MY GAME. Totally with both albums and singles Lene has sold for 372 million NOK since October 12th 1998,when her debutsingel UNFORGIVABLE SINNER were released in Norway. That´s big for a girl who became famous in Norway the same year that she were a "russ"(Something you become when you finish school.In whole of May you´re just drinking and having fun just before your final tests)The year after Lene used to become worldfamous for her music. Maybe it isn´t that weird that Lene decided to keep away from the spotlight since Spellemannsprisen February 25th last year. PLAYING MY GAME has now soled 1,8 million copies worldwide.Her 3 singles,UNFORGIVABLE SINNER,SITTING DOWN HERE and WHERE I´M HEADED has soled all together 3 million copies.Since Lene is both artist,composer and songwriter she gets a lot of money herself. ROYALTY:She gets some money for each album she sells.Lene probably gets 12 Kroner for each album and 4 Kroner for each single.That means that Lene has earned:28 million NOK. COMPOSEINCOMES:The composer Lene Marlin shall have 9,1% of what the album is being sold for.But she has to give some of the money to NCB and musikkforlaget for getting money to her.Lene gets:9,2 million NOK. RADIO AND TV:Every time Lenes song is being played on the radio or her videos is being showned at tv,she gets a little money.What she has got:3,1 million NOK. COLLECTALBUMS:Nobody knows how many collectalbums Lene has been on.5 million is a really low guess,but she gets 1 NOK for each album which Lene is on.That means:4 million NOK. BOUGHT A NEW APARTMENT. In 1999 Lene had an income that were 4,8 million NOK,in 2000 it was totally different.The money from the musicbusiness is being payed after a while and only each half-year.It was first in the last half of 1999 and in the beginning of 2000 the recordsale really took of. Lene has used some of the money buying a new apartment.In 1999 she bought a new apartment on Frogner in Oslo for 1,9 million NOK.In February last year she moved to a bigger apartment near Skillebekk. If we exclude the recordcompany,musikkforlaget EMI publishing and the managementcompany Stageway then Tromsø and the state is the big winners.Of Lenes totalincome Tromsø can expect around 17% of it,7,6 million NOK.But now it´s over for the income to Tromsø,cause in February this year Lene signed some papers which said that Lene was nomore a Tromsøgirl,but an Oslogirl.

	An article from Dagbladet,translated into english of Ole Martin Holmli Stordalstrand:In a blue house Lene grew up,and here she´s coming back often.She lived in that house the 6 first years of her life.After that the girl with the blond hair moved into the town in Tromsø together with her mum,dad and her big brother Rune. Only her grandmum Nanne Guttormsen stayed in that house.And there she´s still living.Last year she became 70. In that house Lene can rest in peace.And here she meets friends on her own age.Just like Lene they´re going there when it´s christmas,easter and summer vacation. 325 PEOPLE Lene Marlin is a Tromsøgirl,even though Stordalstrand and Tromsø is really different.Tromsø is a small bigcity,Stordalstrand got 6 houses and is 75 km away from tromsø. There are few people living in Stordalstrand,where no mobilephone can reach.The people living in Stordalstrand feel familiar with the rest of the fjordarm,which is running out from Skarmunken and into them.Among that 24 km long road there lives 325 people. -DON´T UNDERSTANDS THE LYRICS -Lene rests in peace,I don´t even know if she´s here NOW.We don´t care that much.But I have read about her succes in NORDLYS.I have listen to her music too,it´s nice,but I don´t understand the lyrics,says Pareli Nilsen,a 73 year old farmer. 	An article from Dagbladet, translated into English by Ole Martin Holmli. She have still no plans "getting out of her home" in Oslo. We went to the neighbours of Lene and talked with them. For some months ago she bought a new apartment on Skillebekk in Oslo for 3 million NOK. This is a great place for hiding. Popstars and other people with money prefer living here. She hasn´t been in the media since February last year. And she´s not being shown that much in the neighbourhood either. Dagbladet went to some of the shops around. HERE SHE WAS! On the Narvesencorner we get the first sign of that Lene´s still alive. - Yes,she´s often here. She uses to buy "vepsebol" - ? - Theese, said the girl working in the shop and showed us sweet and small strawberrycandy. Some metres away from Narvesen we met some japaneses. - She has eaten here,said Bianca Lee on the restaurant Fuji - What did she ate? - That´s different from time to time, but I remember she ate some sushi. Next hit we got on "Skillebekk jern og farge" - She bought things to have in the kitchen. But she´s not the only celebrity who has been here. Jens august from HOTEL CÆSAR (The same soap that Lenes boyfriend Stian used to be in) has also been here. Lene hasn´t given up her carrier, even though it looks like that from our places. - Lene´s still writing songs,but I can promise you that she WILL release a new album sometimes,said her Stageway-manager Jan Fredrik Karlsen. NOT SCHEDULED -We haven´t scheduled weither the new album release or her comeback on stage. But as I said, she´s still writing songs and has a good life, said Karlsen. Per Erik Johansen in the recordcompany Virgin says he´s not busy getting Lene on stage again. Cause she has earned that much money now, that she can control a little herself. STILL HOT -1,8 million albums soled is great. Of course we could have sold more if she had done more promotion, but we understand her choice to rest a little, says Johansen. Lene Marlin is out of the top 75 chart in the UK, but is still in, in the totallist and she´s number 80 there this week. Sitting down here made a 5. place in the charts last year. And she proved as late as February this year that she has an internationale name. Then she was nominated for best internationale newcomer both at BritAwards and at the NRj Music Awards in France. But she got no award.

	Lene Marlin in the Top 20 radio hit list

	Lene was 17th most played artist on the offical british radio airplay list of year 2000 (only released on April 3rd). Sitting down Here was top 5 in the radio chart for many many weeks and Unforgivable Sinner got to number #6. The figures were compiled from commercial and BBC radio stations playlists across Britain. 	Lene Marlin's album, Playing My Game, is out of the UK charts. Last week was on number 69. Playing My Game stayed in chart for 34 weeks, and reached #31 in 2001 and #18 last year.

	Lene Marlin gets 15 million NOK in advance!

Tv2 says that the record company will give the girl from Tromso 15 million NOK-and that´s before the album is even recorded! Lene Marlin has sold over 1,6 million copies of her debut album PLAYING MY GAME,so maybe it´s not weird that they are willing to give her an advance that is the biggest album advance in Norway ever! The Tromsøgirl hasn´t been in the studio yet,but Per Erik Johansen from Virgin says he believes in Lene. -At the moment she's writing songs,but we don´t know when she will go into the studio, Said Johansen to "Underholdningsnyhetene" at Tv2 The Tv channel said that her song material is sensationally good, though no-one knows yet when she will start recording. -She will get all the time she needs, says Per Erik Johansen.

	(11/02) In tonight's UK albums chart, Playing My Game is down of 11 positions and is now in 42nd position. Lene's album stops its positive trend (in 2001 has always climbed the chart), and starts its inevitable fall. There's no change at the top of the album chart with Dido's "No Angel" at number one. Atomic Kittens are in pole position in the singles chart with "Whole Again"; new entries at 2 and 3 with Us's Wheatus and Papa Roach.

	UK charts: Playing My Game climbs 2 to number 31

	(05/02) In the UK albums chart, Lene Marlin's cd Playing My Game climbs 2 posizions to number 31. It's a positive trend for Lene's album, that re-entered in the charts in January and every week has climbed positions! It has been in the albums chart for 27 weeks and it's a gold disc. Dido's "No Angels" jumps to number 1. In the singles chart there aren't Lene's records, but there are 3 new entries on the top of the chart: girl band Atomic Kitten is on the top with "Whole Again", beating U2's "Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of" and "Case Of The Ex" by Mya.

	NRJ Awards in Cannes: Lene didn't win

	(21/01) Lene didn't win at NRJ Awards in Cannes. This show award was organized by European radio channels "NRJ". Lene was nominated as International New Act, but the award went to the american singer Anastacia. Lene didn't attend at the show.

	Lene Marlin won´t attend at the awardshows!

She won´t attend at the Nrj awards,the Britawards or at our own Spellemannaward.Her vacation has lasted for 11 months now,she don´t feel ready to be in the spotlight again.The worst which can happen is that it can take a whole new year until she will release something. -When can we hear something from Lene again? -When she has something new to present.I don´t dare to say when,maybe next year or even sooner.Everything depends how fast the recording takes,says Lene Marlins manager Arne Svare,which says this about that she won´t attend at the awardshows: -Because we don´t find it very smart that she will attend at the awardsshows when she soon is starting the recording of her new cd. -If she should have attended at all this awardsshows then we just have had to said goodbye to alot of studioworking.It´s a question about consentrating about her new album or continiue with the work with PLAYING MY GAME,but we have decided to not think of PLAYING MY GAME anymore. -Do you understand that this decision can make people think? -I can understand it,but if we first would have attended at one awardsshow then we have had to attended at the others,if not it could have made the awardsshow we wouldn´t have attended angry,So it´s everyone or noone,says Svare. Lene is not forgotten,just because she has decided to stay away from the spotlight the last year.She is nominated for a NRj award,which is today,but Lene won´t attend. February 26. is it time for the Britawards,where Lene is nominated for the best internationale newcomer,but Lene won´t attend. The tradition at the Spellemannsaward is that the artist of the year is being given the award from the last winner,which is Lene,but Lene won´t attend there either. She has also said no to attending the Bylarm in Tromsø,where a whole seminar is just about Lenes success. -A vacation is what everyone need sometimes,Lene needed peace and time to get down to earth again.That decission were taken a long time ago,even if it has been on for a lot longer time than expected.But someone need a longer vacation then others,says Svare Lene was really really tired after all the promotion in Asia and Europe,but she has been active all the time writing songs,2 of her songs were used at Sissels album last year.The rest of Lenes song is ready to being recorded very soon.
