Posted - 12 Oct 2003 : 09:17:31 Lene's CD is already gold in Italy. 50000 copies sold (950000 to go ;-) ) I wonder what it takes in other countries to go gold, or better, platinum like PMG. Does anybodey know this?

Posted - 15 Oct 2003 : 21:42:59 If I did my research well, 25000 copies sold here (in Belgium) is gold and 100000 is platinum. A 100000 is rather a lot for a small country, it's as much as Italy. Maybe we Belgians were used to buy a lot of CD's.

Posted - 12 Oct 2003 : 22:51:30 i think its great that lene is selling so good in italy, but to be honest i don't know why. ok, her music is very nice, but why does she sell more in italy than in any other country?!?
well maybe it's 'cause italian people have always been atracted to scandinavian girls, don't know

Posted - 12 Oct 2003 : 17:09:00 Well, back in 1999 when PMG was released, a platinum disc required 50000 sold (it has been down-scaled due to the drop in record-sales). So PMG has sold atleast 150000 copies in Norway. It means that 3.3% of the population owns a copy. In Italy she would have to sell 1.8 million copies to reach out to 3.3% of the population. It's very rare that an album sells more than 100000 copies in Norway. The mostselling album ever in Norway is Sissel's christmas-album from the 80's selling more than 500000 copies.. |

Posted - 12 Oct 2003 : 16:47:13 In Italy 100,000 for platinum. Having had 3 Platinum (300,000 copies) with PMG, she has selled more in Italy than in any other country until now. 3 Platinum also in Norway... so she selled only 120,000 copies of PMG there, possible? Ok, Norwegian are 4-5 millions only, but I thought at least every family should have a copy of her albums
Cannot control this... this thing called Lene |

Posted - 12 Oct 2003 : 14:45:29 In Norway it's 10000 for a silver disc, 20000 for a gold disc, and 40000 for a platinum disc. This means that Lene is close to DOUBLE PLATINUM in Norway, or maybe she's already reached 80000??? For singles there is no silver(!), gold is 5000 and platinum is 10000... |
