Not very encouraging reading, this. According to VG, this is how Another Day performs on European charts:
Italy: 9
Norway: 4
Germany: 66
Sweden: 34
Denmark, Finland, Holland, Belgium, Greece, Hungary: AD no longer in the charts
Portugal, Spain, Austria: AD hasn't made it to the charts yet

If any of you have more up to date info from your countries, let us know. (What about France, for instance?)

Since I'm a newbie I don't know much about this...all I know is:

1. This is NOT the first time Lene doesn't get what she deserves
2. Lene Is probably one of the most underated Singers in the world, And that has been proven to me...

Lets just hope everyone will have the chance to see her skills, Like we did

The understandable beauty of all elements gatherd in one...Lene Marlin

no it's not so strange 'cause YWT is really airplayed in france since 3 weeks.I say "really" 'cause it's only 3 weeks thats YWT is airplyed by a BIG BIG radio station.

another things : today I turn on 2 time television and 2 time I saw the video clip ! very cool
Geno Posted - 14 Nov 2003 : 18:32:18
Thanks for the update, Olympien.
A bit strange though that YWT appears for the first time now, months after its initial release. Says something about the lack of promotion, I guess.
Let's hope this is a turning-point!!!

The main problem is that Lene appears unavailable for any meangingful promotion. Radio and tv outlets in the UK will not play someone unless they are willing to appear on their shows.

Another day fall to 124 (lose 24 places) BUT YWT appears for the first time in France in top 100 at place 89 !
olympien Posted - 30 Oct 2003 : 18:28:12
AD fall 3 place and is 91 this week in France ,and YWT still not in top 100

The reason that they don't promote her album more is probarbly because it dosen't focus on the comercial market as much as other albums from other pop-artists. It's not just something mixed togheter to apeal to the current trends and it would probarbly take much more work to get the salecharts up. Pure-comercial artists are easier to promote and becuse they are more focused on trends than music they will quiqly bring in easy money. The big music market today are kids and teenagers who in many chases donsen't care about the music, just the image. True music is dying much because ignorant kids more and more are taking over the major role as consumers of music.

Still, I believe a launch in the US, even if it was a "silent" one, would be worth a shot. In the UK, PMG sold itself almost on its own, because Lene had already retired at that point (she only returned a single time, though, to record the 3rd version of Unforgivable Sinner video, in May 2000).

If we're optimistic, perhaps the same thing would happen in the US with AD, although the probability isn't exactly enormous :)

Plus she's much more of an insider than Lene, she's British and her sister is the singer in Faithless. And she does a lot more promotion as well.

Actually, Dido first got known because another track from her first CD was used for the tv-serie "Roswell". And she was a member of Faithles. The Enimen song takes to much credit for launching her career. (imho of course and this beeing very off topic )

By the way, do you people think they'll still go ahead with the US campaign if Lene's album flops in Europe? Some time ago, there was so much talk about launching her in the States, but I get the impression that these plans have been temporarily shelved.

I fear you're right. The US is the largest market but not a lot of Europeans are able to conquer it.

AD is 88 this week in France , and YWT isn't in top 100 (single chart)

but like i said 2 days before, it will be better next week
Geno Posted - 23 Oct 2003 : 16:44:24
AD continues to slide on the Norwegian album chart, it's down to 9 this week.

Yeah, I thought the same. I mean, if they're not going to promote it now, when will they do it? If you release an album, you might as well promote it, right? I think we'll see when the second single comes out, if they don't make a real effort then, they must simply have given it up.

There's been a statement about focusing on Germany, actually, in October - November.

Seeing we're already at October 22nd, I guess this means "November" :) But who knows?
