Well about her being a puritan I qoute Jewel herself: "'cause I'm tired of all these pilgrims, these PURITANS, these thieves", Kiss the Flame.

And I don't think that she with unbelivers mean religios unbelivers. Life Uncommon is a song about personal freedom and to just not following the crowd. The only thing she says about religion in the song, is: "if praying were enough it would have come to be". It's more about beliving in people than beliving in God.
Many of her songs are about accepting people as they are and not to be judgemental, just listen to Pieces of you.

So common! Give the poor girl another chance, you won't regret it!

I see all the faces, tears and embraces. Wish you could be here to see it too.

Oh, she has always something to say about religion... which wouldn't be bad in itself, but being a total atheist I don't like it when she says "Come on you unbelievers get out of the way", or such things.
I dunno, I get a feeling she's one of those typical puritans I hate...

In the arms of the angel
Far away from here
From this dark cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage
Of your silent reverie
You're in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort here

Yeah, I love that song. I'm Sensitvive is probably the one song that shows her musical talent the most.

Hey, Violet sky. What do you mean with mentally closed? Didn't get that one...

"We have been called naive as if it were a dirty word
We have been called innocent as though with shame our cheeks should burn"
- Jewel Kilcher, "We Have Been Called"
