Hi Lene's fans,

when you played Lene's music the first time to your
friends or members of your families what were their
reactions like?

Was there more refusal, indifference or even enthusiasm?

I had "infected" my sister with Lene's music
and two colleagues and another friend,
but some reactions were "it's too calm to me".
Fortunately, I haven't found total refusals.

Have you ever played her songs to other people
or is her music your secret?

I had a strange experience: My nephew, when he was
3 years old, could hardly be calmed down,
but when the acoustic version of "Playing my Game"
was being played in the background, he calmed down.
I don't want to call Lene's songs boring or making
sleepy but it was surprising to me what an effect
her music has even on little children.

Regards,

Martin.

I'm okay I really am now

Actually my sis introduced Lene to me, we both like her so much. Hum..my mum knew Lene from the DVD set, she said Lene's a talentic song/writer. cool!

And I think most of my friends don't know Lene, 'cause hardly to talk with them something about music, don't even say a specific singer (I don't know why maybe I am bad luck, can't meet more friends who like music as the simliar way with me).

Well, it's my secret from my parents, but the majority of my friends just disregard it and ignore it, or just sit there saying it's pathetic (or worse) when the majority of 'em haven't listened to it. I'm kind of shy with the music, most of it has a personal touch or meaning to me that I don't really want to play to other people incase they know too.

Well, that's not it, i forgot something...
Everybody thinks she's got a beautiful voice, but they just don't like the music that much...

well, (sorry Lene) everybody i let heard the music of Lene Marlin, didn't like it. On school to friends, at home at sports etc. But right now my brother sings sometimes with the music, because he knows all her songs (because i play her songs all the time). But i don't think he likes it...

I've never heard anything bad about her actually. Eventhough I'm the only fan in my family I've heard some good comments. My litle sister has said some negative critique thoug a couple of times. She's said that it was to slow and complainted about the order on PMG. But she has also asked to get one of my copies of AD since I have two so she still likes her.

just because it has a calming effect dosen't at all mean it's boring. I've always found Lenes music very soothing.

Well In the family...as far as I remember Lene Marlin's music is the FIRST Music that all 5 memeber of us agree to listen at the same time and almost nothing else is played in the car or the family stereo

When I first puted the Song "Faces" in the stereo everyone (except my little brother) came out of thier rooms and were all like "Who's song is that?"

my friends at school and even my history teacher wanted her CD when I let them listen to a few songs on my MP3 Player...

Overall Lene coverd the mess i made in the house with Eminem

hmm..some like her, some fall asleep.
But my bothers are more into hip/hop and r'n'b so Lene's music is a lil' 'boring' for them. My parents, friends, cousins don't mind Lene Marlin's music. My fiancée who is Norwegian listens to Lene cuz it reminds her of me (she loves unforgivable sinner) Otherwise, she doesn't really like her.. but.. for other reasons than music (I think she's jealous. hehe!)

Hmmm... my mother said Lene was blessed to be able to make such music... until i and my sister (who actually, infected me) told her the lyrics of Unforgivable Sinner. Then she said that Lene was a poor soul who was very tortured... Sorry Lene.

My second sister doesn't mind Lene's music, though she finds it a little too "boring". She likes songs like "Where I'm Headed" and "You Weren't There", because they're lively and slightly more to the pop song kind of category.

So fragile, just you and me,
Barely staying afloat in this blood red sea.
The eyes i looked at as jewels of hope,
Now hold just despair, how shall we cope?

Your feelings crushed, easy to break,
A protective shield of love we make.
When we realise we shall be free,
To entwine in the hands of you and me...
