I was just wondering whether any of you people out there have any recommendations of nice songs... one cannot listen to Lene all the time, however much one likes her and her songs! 
Perhaps some of you might have a clue? Preferabbly they would be European, since the Americans are already rather boring, sorry to say. Thanks anyway!

Hi. There already is a topic about other artist that you could cheek out.
I dont know wick kinda music you mostley listen to but here are some other singer/songwriters.
About american artist there actually are quite alot of talented singer/songwriters from there like Jewel, Vanessa Carlton, Lisa Loeb Aimee Mann, Sheryl Crow, Shea Seger and Norah Jones to mention a few. In fact many of my favouritres are american.
Some europeans I really like are: Nerina Pallot, Lisa Miskovsky and Marit Bergman.

I don't know about them, [I only know Lene from them]
But I think already know my taste I'd say Eminem...[I know his style is ALOT diffrent from Lene's
but "the eminem show" is a great album...[Though its NOT as good as Lene's AD] |

Venke Knutson is a good singer, she has a 'Lene' sort of sound, and is Norwegian, too

Ahh... thanks, I've Lost My Mind. I'll cross my fingers and hope that Tower Records sells her CD... or i'll just try downloading one or two of them for a start. Norwegian singers rule!

normally vente knutson's album is out now,but still u can find on teh net her two singles "panic" and "scared" ...
and she sings well,with this kind of sincerity and fresh that you kan find in lene marlin music!!!

Apparently, Venke's album is hard to get hold of outside Norway at the moment - I've been looking, but I havent seen it available on places like Amazon.co.uk/.com etc. A couple of her songs can be heard on the internet, plus there is a new fansite about her that is worth visiting, I think its the only one around at the moment, and is very dedicated.

I don't know that much about Venke, I've heard one of her songs only once. But I wasn't that impreced. It started out good but later into it the song came to sound very comercialistic and to me seemed to lack identity and soul. But since all this is from one lisening I might be wrong.

I don't know anyone like Lene (is there?) and I often listen to such different music.
Anyway I could suggest you an italian singer, Elisa. She sings in English and I really like her voice and her music.

Now that I see DarKlaus sig. I rememberd Linkin Park...they aren't bad also try out Evanescence if U alredy haven't

Well, i was wondering again, if anyone could recommend any French songs? I badly need to improve my lousy French.  Kinda like the pop or rock genre... Could you please be specific? Cause i don't really think i'll know much about them.  Thanks.

That's true, Venke Knutson's album is unfindable outside Norway  ... to get my copy, I got to buy it from a friend of mine, while he was in Oslo...
Speaking of it, here it is a signed cover of Venke's album Scared 
By the way at the moment the album is well spreaded around on the net, and I really suggest to listen at it, and particularly at the songs: In2u, Beyond My Dreams, I Wonder, Kiss ... and all the other ones.
And I do recommend the Venke's site mentioned above... if you like Venke's music, that's the greatest source of informations about her, at the moment

I recomend *all* the Venke songs, especially Scared and Beyond my Dreams!
