"a perfect circle" is a band ... it's been create with the singer of Tool ... it's a kind of experimental and atmospheric metal-rock .. superan??you're asking for good rap in europe!!! u have to know tha france is the 2nd productor of rap in the world after the USA !!!! but still, most of them are singing in french ... but u can still parreciate the music and the beat it got .. as u can enjoy with "NTM" : ma benz, laisse pas trainer ton fils, poset ton gun,... or "IAM" : la fievre, petit frere,l'ecole du mic d'argent,independenzia,... or "MC SOLAR" ( it's him who introduce rap in france, and it got in the past the bets lyrics) : bouge de là,caroline,le nouveau western "DOC GYNECO" as well!!!! that's the 3-4 rappers here in france i respect.i don't like rap,but i respect them coz theey are making real quality music ... i advice you to really put an ear on it,u'll be surprised ... it don't sound like USA's rap or hip hop...it's just this french sound system!!! from marseille to sarcelles, passing by paris... u like it i'm sure ....
"SAIAN SUPAR CREW" is very nice as well !!! i'm sure u know them!!!! "Angela" is known in all the world
so, GOOD SOUND !!!

Ooof... i've got to change my regular habits. Everytime i visit the site in the morning here, everything's been sped up so much...
Right. Loreena McKennit sang for LOTR, didn't she? I love the soundtrack.
We've been arguing over Alizee for a long time, so i'll just say, i like her songs (i'll never know the person; don't exactly want to either) and i'll just continue liking her unless she comes out with some terrible music.
As for rap... i've never liked rap. To me it isn't really singing; it isn't really music at all. You just speak quickly and behind you there just a beat of some sort... it's not really my preference.
I think i'd better not say so much about rap... i'm still staring at that chainsaw in Superfan's hands...

oh...I didn't notice... *puts chainsaw in pocket* yes...pocket... how? I dunno,
anways...I agree rap is talking fast with a beat...thats why u have to understand what the rapper says...not just plain listening... I guess Lene fans dont like rap...[I know Lene sings with an outstanding voice...a good voice isn't really needed in rap] Well I wonder if Lene herself like rap? -I bet not,
Well enough with rap, Punk music...how about it...[j/k]

Punk music? Well, to me that's not much more different than rap. Anyway, i don't really listen to it. Lene's enough to fill my ears for centuries!

what u must love in rap,it's the way they are giving you the lyrics up .. the flow they have ... some can rap very nicely, but others are just shutty ... i know if i had to make some rap,i couldn't coz i don't have this flow beat in me .... but still, the reason i'm not interested in rap it's thta the message they have don't concern me ... in france it's mots of rappers coming from ghettos, and then explain the way they live, how it's difficult for them coz they are black or arab, ect ... i don't feel it,i'm totally different from these people, socialy speaking ... i find more and completly myself in rock or lene music ...

Hey, anyone could explain to me what Eurovision is? All i can guess is that it's something like the Talent Shows... it's been going on for ages, right? I could trace it back to the 60s' or something...

yes, eurovision is the european song contest...about 24 counties of europe choose one singer to represent them.it happens every years.every artists are singing, and then each countries'conventions note them.points are starting at 1,2,3,then to 12,the best note.the one who has the best score win the contest.a country can't vote for his own artist.and this contest is now a institution here in europe. this year,it's a ukrainian who won... theis contest is great thing for the one who win it.ABBA won it,and then became famous!!!they were singing "Waterloo"!!!
but it's not necessary to say that it's a kind of star academy ot others tv program like Idol !!!! iy's just that some countries are taking winners of these programs to represent them..it's easier!!! but the pity with this contest is that every countries starts to sing in english, while they had almost all their own language before.... eurovision is becoming to much business for my^part...it's sad...

I love Eurovision
I could go on and on about it all day, but there are some good websites around that offer a history of the event, and lots of facts and figures. The best starting point is the official site, where you can hear clips of this years' songs, and see pictures, as well as view stats of all the past contests (going right back to the 1950s!!) etc:

hm - where have I been? This thread is kewl :p
Eurovision AND Eminem *smile* Eurovision rocks - EVEN if Norway has the record of the most '0' point turnouts through Eurovision song contest :p It's all FUN FUN FUN!
Eminem has awesome lyrics! He totally makes my day when I need something to work me up some energy inside - I have three of his albums, and some of his lyrics are SO awesome! (and if you don't interpret them by just listening to pieces of the lyrics - many of them are very impressive)
I don't generally like rap, but Eminem adds humour and a very unique style to his stuff. His singles aren't really the best stuff he has, but he uses sarcasm, irony and sometimes quite morbid humour - and you gotta be in to that to like him, I guess.
Even my mother likes Eminem!
ANYWAY! :D lol other european artists who are good(and preferably not too 'commercial' I presume?) could be Travis (I love their style, but it's a love/hate kind of bad, I guess), Maria Mena (although, I think SOME of her new stuff is in the 'commercialistic' direction) and there's this swedish artist (though, (unfortunately?) she also sings in swedish) called Lisa Ekhdal *sp* who is a sing-songwriter who has been around for about a decade I think... |
