Well I've just figured there are 3 endings...(or more?) I'll give you a hint on the "bad" ending...remember when she (The Boss) gives you a time limit to "do your mission" (Kill her)...well simply don't do it...
and about her...well it was sad Big Boss (I hope you figured it wasn't Solid Snake you were controlling!) killed the woman who raised him (step mother?)
and you really should play MGS1 because MGS3...lets just say the story will be a lot nicer... It'll even explain the "Paradox" thing you get on game overs....

Well, i'm not too crazy over MGS, so i haven't played it more than once. Perhaps i'll try again when i've got nothing to do.
Anyway, just going to say that i'd finished LOTR : The Third Age a few weeks ago. And honestly, it's one of the best RPG games i've ever played. It's brilliant, customising your players, and stuff like that, and it's up to you how your progress goes. Like in Moria, when you're tracking the Balrog, if you don't go fast enough and just wander around, you'll definitely be surrounded by Goblins, and that is not a pretty sight. But sure, many people say it's a total rip-off Final Fantasy, which i'm not too sure about. I don't play Final Fantasy too much; don't like the story-line. Though it's not to say the story line of The Third Age is very good either. It's pretty lousy, in fact. But i like the armour... besides, they did a total rip-off all the scenes from the movie. I suppose EA wanted to save on resources and didn't want to create new scenes, but couldn't they have at least animated some nice new scenes? And the story just follows the fellowship's story, with a little women here and there adding romance to the story. Well, don't get me wrong, i'm feminist, but romance? It's a fighting game, for Pete's sake! But from what i've seen from the graphics-detailed movie of Final Fantasy, it has its own romance story too. So i suppose no one would play these games if there was no romance in it?
I've played it three times around, absolutely amazing. Save the romance, and the story, it's a spectacular game. Beautiful graphics, lovely sound effects (straight off the soundtrack; if you liked the soundtrack, you'll like this). I recommend it... nearly as highly as Superfan recommends MGS.
My Angels of Light have long left me, Yet the darkness of the path is queer, Where have they escaped for purity? Leading to what i hold so dear This blinding light glaring in my sight, Mystery of the unseen so hard to unravel, Though i struggle to see with all my might. To where i will go, through time and travel.

I also finished Half life 2 recently...Great graphics (but not as good as Doom3) great sound except for the Clip changing! (you'll know what i mean when u play it) Story...hey! its an FPS game so dont expect a 10/10 story but overall its really worth it...
I'm waiting for Resident Evil 4...I've seen the trailers...AWESOME I must say...everything hjas changed and the graphics are even better than Doom 3 (They REAALLY are) also there are going to be all new moves & stuff... (watch the trailer for more info.)
Also I've been playing Shellshock...I must say good in violence but hey its not the best thing for your money...
More updates comming soon! ;)

How stupid of me to forget one game i love the most. Dungeon Keeper 2.
REALLY good graphics, considering it was made in 1999, and nice story-line. You play a Dungeon Keeper, a bad guy, controlling minions in an underground realm. You start off with a Dungeon Heart - which is vital to your survival. If it is destroyed, you are banished forever (yeah right!).
You are blessed with 4 (generally; sometimes it's 5 or 6) imps at the start of the game. These little faithful devils will do your bidding at any cost. Once you tag any single tile that they can reach, they will begin digging fervently. They will also claim territories for you, mine gold for you, and sometimes even fight enemies (though they are very weak and get slashed dead most of the time).
Then there come the creatures. You claim a portal, they see which rooms you possess, and they choose whether or not to be lured by your evil hand. But these creatures aren't faithful unless you keep them happy, and they're spoilt! You build them lairs and hatcheries, and they fight for you. In addition to that, they like luxuries too, like casinos. Besides that, you have to build a training room to train them up so they advance to higher levels. AND best of all, these creatures get paid! All these cost gold.
There's the most hassling of the lot! GOLD. If you can't find gold, you're doomed. Your creatures will first get unhappy, then angry, and will want to leave your dungeon. If you don't let them and trap them, they'll rebel! Honestly, talk about being loyal!
But it's all worth it when you emerge victorious. You defeat the enemy (most of the time, known as the "Goodly Hero", King of the Land) who holds what you desire - the portal gem - and your evil partner Horny, emerges from a circle of flames, and claims the portal gem for you (though i've never been given the portal gem).
All in all, i'd give it a 8/10. Nice graphics, good sound effects, good videos, good ending... and good cheats.

See MGS3 got quite a few spots up there. Must be the hottest game on all platforms ever.
About Dungeon Keeper 2 though, i'll warn you since you said you don't really like strategy, that it's a full time strategy game. You can possess your creature with the Possession spell, but of course it's not advisable to do it all the time. Your dungeon will go crazy without your supervision after a while.

well its a shot in the dark...maybe I'll like it
and about mgs3 getting all the stuff...I know MGS3 was a great game (but still not as good as one and i think it was a bit of a push over) but I think it got all those awards because it was still new (those results were made about 3 weeks after mgs3 release).
and mgs3 was known as the best mgs game on the ps2...so that still makes mgs1 the best
and the best selling game of the videogame history was/is 1. Final Fantasy 7 2. Final Fantasy 8 3. GTA 3 4. GTA 4 5. Final Fantasy 10 (MGS3 is number 83 on the list and mgs1 is number 15 not 2 mention mgs2 is number 93)
