Apro un nuovo topic, il topic della speranza!

Dovete fare una semplice cosa: iscrivervi cliccando su "Join us now", lasciando la vostra mail e i vostri dati.
Praticamente voi date il vostro nome e la vostra mail come adesione, perché vengano usati x lottare contro la povertà nel mondo (un po' come le campagne di Amnesty, ma qui ci sono molti sforzi concentrati tutti sull'Africa x quest'anno).
Cmq tranquilli: non viene fatto nulla senza il vostro permesso.
Vi arriveranno delle mail che vi richiederanno alcune cose che potete fare già ora dal sito.
A me ne è arrivata una con il volto di Nelson Mandela che mi chiedeva di mandare una lettera a Blair, di comprare un braccialetto online o via posta, magari lasciando anche una piccola donazione (io me lo sto facendo spedire, quest'anno si portano pure), votare sul sito per Trade justice, linkare l'indirizzo del sito ad amici (l'ho fatto, e ancora meglio ho fatto aprendo questo topic).
Ieri m'è arrivata un'altra mail con il volto di Natalie Imbruglia, che mi chiedeva di guardare i video --> http://www.makepovertyhistory.org/video/?pageVideo=/flv/clickuk512k.flv
guardate in particolare i primi due (ogni 3 secondi muore un bambino e l'appello di Bono)
che stanno trasmettendo anche su Channel 4 in UK e poi mi dava un link x registrarmi x partecipare a fare un video simile al primo, quello con lo schiocco delle dita. Stanno coinvolgendo delle persone comuni, ma solo 25 potranno prendervi parte, logicamente bisognerebbe stare in Inghilterra.
Poi mi hanno comunicato di un'altra mail di Dido per l'Edinburgh Rally --> http://www.makepovertyhistory.org/edinburgh
in pratica una richiesta di fare una marcia durante il G8 a Scozia il 2 luglio x chiedere giustizia nel commercio, cancellazione del debito e maggiori aiuti ai paesi poveri. Logicamente anche qui bisognerebbe essere inglesi x andarci.
Ma ci sono tante iniziative che troverete sul sito.
Coraggio! Non aspettate che il mondo si muova, potete farlo voi adesso, con alcuni click, prendendo delle iniziative, anche solo simbolicamente.
Questo anno è cruciale x tanti motivi, non perdiamo altro tempo!!
Non dimenticate: ogni 3 secondi muore un bambino nel mondo per malnutrizione o malattia!

Non ho voluto "inquinare" il topic della speranza, che era anche più generico, perciò uso quest'altro, di speranza ma anche di denuncia, per denunciare QUESTA VERGOGNA
Non è una novità, già si sapeva ed era stato denunciato da gente come Zanotelli, ma il guaio è che si va di male in peggio, e non ci sono davvero scusanti a promesse fatte e reiterate e mai mantenute. Insomma, si tratta soltanto di stanziare dei fondi, e neppure quello siamo capaci di fare!
Poi ci scambiamo gli auguri di Natale... quale Natale, ritorno a dire? Il Natale di chi sta comodamente seduto in poltrona a guardare il suo dvd preferito (e tra questi mi metto pure io senza problemi) mentre c'è gente che anche a Natale si sporca le mani e a volte rischia la vita, facendo di tutto per salvare più vite possibili (sono medici, infermieri, volontari di ogni tipo) per dare un po' di amore e speranza a chi ne è stato privato, per gettare un seme di una giustizia vera... e noi come li ringraziamo per il lavoro che fanno (il lavoro che nessuno ha chiesto loro di fare, ma che è l'unico che forse ci rende veramente umani, cui tutti dovremmo prendere parte). Gli tagliamo i fondi, ecco l'unica cosa che sappiamo fare. Per fortuna ci sono i privati, e forse non è un caso che mai come in queste vacanze mi siano arrivate lettere da diverse associazioni + o meno note (almeno una decina, contre le 4-5 solite) ma i privati neppure hanno tanti soldi. E poi i fondi dello Stato sono i nostri soldi anche quelli, e loro come li usano? Non certo come noi vorremmo.
Io non so cosa si possa fare, non credo neppure + che un governo sarebbe migliore di un altro. E' l'uomo, ogni singolo uomo quello che conta. Se non ha dentro dei valori e la capacità di attuarli, o almeno la volontà di attuarli, ci ritroveremo -e non sono chiacchiere!- in una società sempre + ricca ma sempre + disumanizzata, scontenta e in conflitto con gli altri, e non so dove ci porterà tutto questo, certo a niente di buono.
P.s. Anche oggi, come ogni giorno, 30.000 persone moriranno di fame nei paesi poveri, mentre noi brinderemo e manderemo in fumo denaro per sparare botti insulsi. Bisogna continuare a ricordarsi di questa gente, a denunciare con forza le ingiustizie, perché i cd. "potenti" facciano qlc di decisivo, con voglia o anche controvoglia.
Nel 2005 è nato questo movimento mondiale, Make poverty history, e movimenti affini, una presa di coscienza collettiva che così non si può andare avanti. E' un frutto buono della globalizzazione, e va coltivato con tutto l'impegno possibile.

Per favore mandate una mail (basta inserire il vostro indirizzo e-mail e + sotto nome e cognome) al ministro degli esteri inglese e al commissario europeo x il commercio perché si ricordino degli impegni presi quando si riuniranno per il prossimo WTO.

La battaglia prosegue...
Hello,
So far in this crucial year in the fight against poverty, significant steps have been taken on aid, debt and trade - and your actions have helped make this happen.
The British government and the G8 have said that poor countries should be able to decide their own economic policies. But they continue to apply damaging economic conditions by funding World Bank and International Monetary Fund IMF programmes, which take away poor countries' right to choose their own paths to development.
Ahead of September's meetings of the World Bank and IMF we need your help to ensure that the UK government & the rest of the world do more.
Harmful conditions currently undermine the benefits of debt relief and aid.
Of course funds must be used to relieve poverty, and must be properly accounted for. But the strings currently attached are very different. In return for aid and debt relief, many poor countries are made to open up their markets, cut vital public spending, and privatise basic services.
Please take two minutes to send an email to Gordon Brown and Hilary Benn to say that while more aid and debt relief are welcome, the strings attached to them are not.

Such policies have been disastrous for many poor countries.
Tanzania was forced to privatise water provision, leading to a worse service and higher prices.
Zambia had to cut spending on education, leaving thousands of much needed teachers out of work.

C'è soddisfazione x i risultati raggiunti, ma bisogna continuare a fare pressioni sui governi per fare di più nei prossimi incontri internaz. rilevanti che si terranno quest'anno, come il summit dell'ONU sugli obiettivi dello sviluppo nel nuovo millennio e i prossimi colloqui del WTO.
The 2005 G8 Summit took place against a background of tragedy. The attacks in London yesterday focused all of our attentions on the terrible waste that each and every life lost always represents. Our thoughts are with the friends and family of those killed and those who were injured.
At a time when terrorists have shown such disregard for our shared humanity, Make Poverty History is a living embodiment of it.
Never before have so many people stood in solidarity with the poor. While there is a great deal more G8 leaders should have done in Gleneagles, today they responded to our campaign for justice by making significant commitments to increase aid, cancelling some of the debts of some of the world's poorest countries, and saying they will apply fewer conditions to them. They also agreed to strive for access to AIDS treatment for all by 2010. These commitments will give hope and life to millions of the world's poorest people, and they're down to you.
Are you wearing a white band? Remembering all the emails you've sent? Did you rally along with quarter of a million people in Edinburgh last weekend? Then you helped deliver the pressure that made 2005 the year the world accelerated on the road towards justice.
Today's announcement marks a turning point in the human story, but it falls far short of the plan that would truly make poverty history. To do that, and secure a place in history, world leaders must go a lot further at 2 crucial talks later in the year - the UN Millennium Development Goals summit and World Trade Organisation talks - and we need your continued help to make sure they act.
Millions of people are trapped in the prison of poverty. Today the G8 chose not to do all that we have asked them that could set those people free. The people of the world are already on the road to justice. They expect their leaders to be with them. Today's announcement has shown that the G8 need to run much faster to catch up.

Hello,
By being part of the Make Poverty History campaign you've done a lot over the last six months to create the golden opportunity to change the world that is in our grasp now.
That's why I wanted to tell you about Live 8 myself.
Let me start by saying, this is not Live Aid 2 - this time its not people's money we need, it's themselves. The five concerts taking place around the world are the starting point for The Long Walk To Justice, an event that will see hundreds of thousands of people heading to Edinburgh to tell the G8 leaders that the whole world is expecting them to deliver.
By doubling aid, fully cancelling debt, and delivering trade justice for Africa, the G8 have it within their power to change the future for millions of men, women and children. What we need to do is show them in our millions that we care and that we're watching.
Whether you're starting things off in Edinburgh on the Saturday at the vitally important Make Poverty History rally, or planning to head to the Scottish capital later in the week, the really vital thing is that you see your good work through and send a message loud and clear to those 8 men - now is the time, this is the year, you can make poverty history.
